NUNEATON, WARWICKSHIRE – Saffron Table has received the Flavours of Asia Award, an accolade presented to a limited number of exceptional restaurants. The recognition accompanies two Taste Asia features lighlighting the restaurant and the personal journey of its co-founder and director, Manjit Kanwal.

Situated on Abbey Street in Nuneaton, Saffron Table brings together regional Indian cooking, contemporary surroundings and a warm approach to hospitality. Its food reflects Kanwal’s Punjabi roots, with family traditions shaping an experience centred on sharing a meal.

In Taste Asia’s interview, At Saffron Table, a Long Journey Leads Back to Home Cooking, Kanwal discusses his return to the restaurant industry after moving to the United Kingdom in 1993. Having previously run a small restaurant in Punjab,he retained an ambition to create a welcoming dining destination in the town his family calls home. The feature explores the influences behind Saffron Table, from its family-inspired name to its generous thalis and home-style vegetarian dishes. Kanwal’s Punjabi background and his wife’s Gujarati heritage provide a personal
foundation for the restaurant’s approach to food and hospitality.

Taste Asia’s accompanying review, In Nuneaton, Saffron Table Delivers Authentic Punjabi Heritage with Modern Flair, examines how that vision translates to the table. It highlights dishes including Amritsari Fish Pakora, Paneer Tikka and Chicken Biryani, alongside a drinks offering that places cocktails and mocktails at the heart of the occasion.

Together, the features introduce readers to both the people behind Saffron Table and the dining experience they have created. The Flavours of Asia Award adds further recognition to a restaurant building its identity around regional character, family traditions and the pleasure of bringing guests together.
