ROYAL LEAMINGTON SPA – Winner of the CurryLife Awards 2023 – a long established family run Indian/Bangladeshi Restaurant owned and managed by a father and daughter team. Bombay restaurant is situated in Leamington Spa Town Centre.  Bombay restaurant stands as a shining gem in the world of Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. As a recent recipient of the prestigious CurryLife Awards 2023, it is clear that this family-run establishment has mastered the art of delivering an unforgettable dining experience.

Upon stepping inside, I was immediately enveloped in a sense of warmth and hospitality, thanks to the gracious welcome from none other than Restaurant Manager herself, Iftahara Ahmed. Even on a bustling Saturday night, where every table was claimed by eager patrons, Iftahara’s personal touch made me feel like a cherished guest.

The restaurant‘s modern and inviting façade is just a taste of the elegance that awaits within. The interior boasts tasteful decor with subtle Indian influences and clean lines that exude sophistication. One cannot help but be captivated by the decorative wall art and the captivating balloon ceiling feature, which transport you to the heart of India.

What truly sets Bombay Restaurant apart is the unwavering dedication of its staff, all working seamlessly under the watchful eye of Manager Iftahara. Her exceptional organizational skills shone brilliantly even in the midst of peak demand. The restaurant was a hive of activity, serving both walk-in guests and a sizeable group celebrating a birthday, complete with a cake and candles. Remarkably, the team managed to maintain an equally bustling takeaway service.

The extensive menu is a testament to Bombay Restaurant‘s commitment to pleasing all palates. From chef’s recommendations to signature dishes, mild to fiery spices, classics to biryanis, tandoori specialties to vegetarian delights, and balti creations – there is something for every discerning diner.

The culinary journey commenced with the classic trio of poppadoms, pickles, and spicy onions, setting the tone for the exquisite meal ahead. The starters, prawn puri and paneer shashlik, arrived with impeccable presentation and burst forth with delightful flavours. The mains were nothing short of mouthwatering, featuring a tantalizing trio of classic Indian dishes and the mesmerizing Chingri Kazana, a prawn masterpiece served alongside fragrant nan bread and aromatic pilau rice. However, the evening’s crowning glory had to be the Chicken Makhani – a mildly spicy masterpiece with an unexpected twist, generously adorned with luscious grated cheese.

To conclude this splendid culinary journey, the restaurant surprised guests of all ages with a delightful selection of sweet treats, including jelly beans, mints, and liquorice sprinkles.

In summary, Bombay Restaurant is a dining experience that transcends mere cuisine. It is a testament to the passion and dedication of its owners and staff, as well as a beacon of culinary excellence. It comes as no surprise that it has earned the prestigious CurryLife Awards, and I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment as a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure in Leamington and Warwickshire.
